Match droplet size to the job
Always match droplet size to the product label, nozzle type, pressure, wind conditions and target canopy.
- Herbicides
Generally use coarse to very coarse droplets to minimise drift while maintaining efficacy.
- Fungicides & insecticides:
Medium to fine droplets improve coverage and canopy penetration
- Fertiliser
Use stream bars or coarse droplets where possible to reduce leaf burn and improve soil placement.
Keep an eye on pressure and speed
Operating pressure and travel speed directly impact performance. Even the right nozzle won’t perform well outside its optimal range.
Don’t forget wear and tear
Nozzles wear over time, affecting application rates. Regular checks and timely replacement help avoid over- or under-applying.
