Apprentice of the Year 2023
Our 2023 Apprentice of the Year Awards recognise outstanding dedication, skills, and
commitment, embodying the core values we live and breathe. We’re thrilled to offer our
apprentice technicians an exclusive chance to work on top-of-the-line farm machinery.
Guided by seasoned technicians, they gain invaluable experience across our network.
And the winner is …
Huge congratulations to our 2023 Apprentice of the Year — Peter Dumesny from Riverton!
Peter was awarded the perpetual shield for his exceptional dedication, thirst for knowledge,
and unwavering commitment since day one. Consistently showing up early, Peter has
impressed the team with his exceptional organisational skills, keeping his space and the
workshop squeaky clean, and never being afraid to learn from his mentors or try new things.
“Early in his employment I would often get notifications from Web Academy that Peter had
been logged onto the Case IH portal after hours and completed all the courses that were
available to him. He spent his spare time researching products and has a general hunger for
the knowledge that will help him to succeed in his role,” Riverton Branch Manager Justin
Smorti says.
“Peter’s mentors did not hesitate to invest effort into him, knowing that he would respect their
time and value their experience. When given the chance, Peter often stepped up as a leader
— he’s been leading teams to complete tillage builds off site with a lot of success, and our
customers love the way he communicates job information while on farm.”
We’re incredibly proud of Peter — who’s been a fantastic addition to the Riverton team and
will continue to inspire us all with his work ethic.

A close call
While Peter took out the title, we’re just as proud of our hard-working finalists, Zac Lawrie (Wudinna) and Daniel Clements (Cummins), who left their mark during the 2023 Apprentice Exchange Program.
Zac’s journey from Trade Assistant to Ag Service Technician Apprentice at Wudinna highlights his dedication and capabilities. His eagerness to ask questions and continuously learn has been instrumental in his success.
Daniel has been recognised for his thoughtful problem-solving and impactful leadership. His quality workmanship and rapport with customers showcase his exceptional skills, making him a valued team member. Well done, to both Zac and Daniel!
All three superstars received a plaque and a voucher to invest in new work tools for their amazing contributions.
A big shoutout to all our apprentices and their mentors! You’ve made this year one of great growth, and we’re proud to have you as part of the Ramsey Bros family.
Here’s to an exciting 2023 for each of you and our team!
